Preparation for  class is one of the best class room strategies. You may get yourself ready by certain ways.


Enter early in  the class

A student should try to reach the class before class time. It is must because you can revise previous lecture. Some times instructor comes earlier in class to chat with students so it will be useful for you. You can make your mind set for the learning before it’s start. You can also prepare for class in your free time before the class. You can think even while travelling towards the class room.

Review the previous lecture

Reviewing the previous material will help you a lot whether it is lecture or session. You can review the previous topics in the night as well. It will help you a lot to grab the ideas.

Anticipate about lecture

Before moving ahead in the class you may anticipate

·        what will you learn today?

·        Is there any new topic?

·        Is it discussion based?

·        Reading is required or not.

If you have to do the reading activity then you can do that by reading the title first. Then check the course objectives. After that read the chapter summary. Now do the skimming of the topic by focusing on heading and subheading. In case of any difficult word check dictionary.

Evaluate your understanding

Access your course material and check whether the topics are clear to you or not. Is any thing confusing in it? If you have any problem discuss in the class.

Formulate your questions and comments

Think about questions and comments before entering into class. Is any question come in your mind? Do you have to give comment on something. It does not mean that the teacher will ask all questions from you or you have to comments on all things, It will make you active.

Organisation key

It can be key to your preparation for class. Organize your difficulties then ask from your instructor. Arrange the material of previous lecture. Make a list of key words and concepts. Discuss with each other as well. These ways will help you to move forward.
